December 2012 was a busy month. We have hundreds of photos of Falmouth people, thanks to Lippy, but I did not have time to concentrate on editing and posting them in December.
Falmouth Photo Site will be publishing the pictures in a series called Falmouth People December 2012. This is the first in the series.
I have been hoping to get some Usain Bolt photos ever since starting FalmouthPO.com. The problem is, he hardly makes public appearances in his home parish, except when he visits his family in Sherwood Content. Spotting the double, double Olympic Champion outside Sherwood has become a rare occurrence over the years.
Today, I got the opportunity as Usain donated a bus to his Alma Mater, William Knibb Memorial High School. There was a presentation ceremony in the Steven James Auditorium. Bolt was accompanied by fellow William Knibb alumni, Jayson Young who ran a blistering 19.86 over the 200 metres this year to become the 4th fastest Jamaican in the history of the event.
Also present at the function was his mother and father, former teacher Miss Thorpe, manager Norman Peart and current Principal Dr. Mark Nicely. Here are photos from the event and you can get the full story from our sister site, FalmouthPO.com:
After the Jamaica 50 Independence celebrations (from which we have posted albums of the gospel concert, Independence Day ceremony, Independence Day and Independence Night events), life was back to normal and I took a few walks in the uptown Falmouth area to get a few more random pictures of Falmouth, Trelawny and its people.
The image count on Falmouth Photos is now up to 9875 photos, archiving Falmouth, Trelawny in pictures:
